Cajun Shrimp Alfredo

I realized it’s been quite a while since I’ve posted a recipe.. (shame on me)… but here’s one if you’re short on time and need something quick.  This recipe for Cajun Shrimp Alfredo is just the thing to make.  Not only is it simply delicious, it’s so simple to make.  To save time, I used shrimp that was already peeled and deveined.

Cajun Shrimp Alfredo

Creamy pasta served with blackened shrimp in an alfredo sauce

  • 8 oz Penne Pasta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 lb shrimp cleaned, deveined
  • 1 tblspn butter
  • 2 tblspn olive oil
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 1/2 tbspn Zatarain's blackened seasoning

Alfredo Sauce

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz creamed cheese
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tblspn minced garlic
  • 1 tspn Tuscan seasoning or Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tspn black pepper
  • 1/2 cup butter

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to directions with tspn salt.  Drain and set aside.  Preheat  large skillet over a medium high flame, add 1 tblspn butter and olive oil.  Once butter is melted add shrimp and saute.  Add black pepper and blackened seasoning and stir to coat.  Once done transfer to plate.  In the same saucepan, add 1/2 cup butter, tuscan seasoning and minced garlic, stir for 5 seconds.  Then add heavy cream and creamed cheese and using a whisk to smoothen sauce to get the lumps out.  Add Parmesan cheese and black pepper and continue to whisk sauce until sauce is smooth and thick.  Add pasta back to the sauce and blend.  Next add shrimp on top and stir until coated.  Garnish with parsley (optional) Serve immediately

Dinner was literally ready in 30 minutes.

  1. I love Cajun Alfredo pasta! Blackened anything too! It looks delicious! I have not tried using cream cheese in my Cajun pasta but I will try it next time I make it.
