Flavors of Fall – Blog Hop

Hey everyone!! I know you’re all probably saying like me “where did summer go”…right??  The heat was definitely on this Summer and now we’re headed into sweater weather as things begin to cool off.  I mentioned in my previous post that we’d be back with another blog hop to get the season started. If you missed our previous season hops you can catch them here and here. If you’re joining me from Amy’s – welcome to my cyber corner and thank you for visiting.   Enjoying cocktails with Amy was such a delectable treat (isn’t she such a sweetheart) and now I want to warm your tummies with a Fallicious appetizer to get keep the party going.  Now let me stop chatting so we can move on to some finger licking.

It seems I’ve gained a new addiction to blueberries.  The season was great and produced some splendid crops  because all summer I found myself buying 3 or 4 pints every week.  I mean seriously, there were times I sat and ate an entire pint in one sitting, but luckily I learned they’re an antioxidant.  Yep, these blue babies are considered a Superfood, packed with antioxidants and phytoflavinoids.  Blueberries are also high in potassium and vitamin C, making them the top choice of doctors and nutritionists. Not only can they lower your risk of heart disease and cancer, they’re also anti-inflammatory which is great for me since I experience swelling in my wrists.

With all that goodness – I decided to create an appetizer using them in (what I think is) restaurants #1 appetizers – WINGS!  This recipe was totally easy to make and not to mention quick.  If you like sweet sticky wings, these are just what the tastebuds will crave.  The extra bonus is there were fresh blueberries mixed in the jam, so when I bite the chicken I also bit into some plump juicy blueberries.
