Last week I wrote tips about my 5 Goodwill finds to style in your home, and I mentioned the last two square pillows were my Goodwill finds for $2.00 each which was a fantastic deal for down decorative pillows and another basket.
I found this basket for $2.00 at a thrift store and thought it would be cute as a planter. I’ve not seen this shape before so I decided to get it, because my pineapple plant could use a new holder.
It does look nice in the basket, however, it just seemed the basket could a little bit of “something” to spruce it up a bit. I started hunting around the house to see what I could add.. I thought of fabric, but then I found my strand of feathers and “bingo” I thought that would work. So with my trusty glue gun and something I already had around, I gave the basket an upscale new look. Simple DIY and totally cost effective.
Now it has a bit of a boho-vibe.
Whatcha think??
Not bad for $2 bucks.. – I’m smiling.. and not to mention, so is Marsha, who found a basket for $2.00 and she created a “Spa Me Away” basket for a Mother’s Day gift. She simply lined her basket with leftover fabric and filled it with her handmade, organic soaps, lotions and few other botanical spa treatments.
Isn’t is a lovely gift idea? To learn more about this basket and her signature handmade organic soaps and lotions visit her blog at MJonesStyle.com
Also, back again with another $2.00 find is Christy at Confessions of a Serial DIYer. She found a bunch of spindles and decided to create her very own wind chime. This was a very creative way to recycle and upscale. To learn how she crafted this whimsical garden art, visit her blog for a step-by-step guide.
So there you have it.. another round of $2.00 items found to decorate your home with. I hope they’ve inspired you and if you find something.. don’t forget to share so I can feature you. As always, happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home!!

Serious DIY for sure and your basket looks unique and expensive. Kudos!!
What do I think? You have created the most chic boho basket on the internet!!! This basket has gone from great to gorgeous and with feathers of all things. One question, did you have a fit with the feathers and glue sticking to your fingers? Giggles. TFS and a shout out on my $2 buck find.
