Saturday Thriftscapade

Hey guys, it’s only Wednesday, but wishing it was Saturday, but I thought I’d drop in on hump day with another episode of Saturday Thriftscapade because we were on a roll.  I honestly think I want to go on a complete tour of thrift stores, hit yard sales and flea markets from here to Atlanta.  There’s so many hot spots to hit and it seems every time I go there, I find a new shop.  I found this yummy looking pink sofa in a new location.  Yes, it had my feeling all giddy inside wishing I could load it up.   My thoughts were how gorgeous an array of colorful pillows would look styled on her.  It was in excellent condition and needless to say priced to sell (although I couldn’t get this sofa – it’s making want to add more pink into my decor).

Found another glass top dining table at a Salvation Army and it was $180.00

Found this orange delight at another location (here in SC) and it was $60.00.  I texted a friend who was looking for new furniture and they loved it… needless to say they picked it up 2 days later.  They also got the green chair next to it for $25 (it was a pair and they bought both).   I love when I can find something for someone.

Wingback chairs are always spotted when I’m out and about.  I’ve been eyeing wingbacks at dining tables and have been strongly considering changing my captain’s chairs and replacing them with wingbacks and these two realllllly had me thinking hard.  Of course I’d have them reupholstered, but I walked away- (just know I walked away with regret)

Came across these two full size vintage beds.  This one was $67.00  – of course they could use some perking up, but still.. a great price.

and this one was $56.00

This chair and ottoman were practically brand new – barely used and had a mere price tag of $40.00 (for both) – again – sent another text to my girlfriend and 2 days later – she picked it up.

This sofa was at Goodwill for $120.00

I’ve seen so many nice items and sometimes it makes we want to continuously redecorate, (but believe me I come to my senses – real quick).  I happened to be passing a yard/moving sale and scored this chrome wine rack with a removable butler’s tray for $10.00.  Yes, this did come home with me, but it’s actually going to my son’s home.  If you recall the Brick Cottage Project, well he’s moved from Atlanta and is back in his home (can I get a woop-woop!!!)). Definitely a good score for him.

For myself, I found two masks for $8.00.  They blend perfectly with the recently redecorated bedroom.  See how close one blends with the paisley print on the pillows.. (WOW – what luck)

I chose to hang this one because I preferred how it blended with the rug versus the curtains.  The other will go to (of course) my son’s to add with his others.

I also found a faux orchid for $3.99 (my touch of pink).   I mixed it in with my real plants, and it doesn’t look so fake.

There’s so much out there and I have more to share with you.  I’m helping my son decorate his home so you know I’m happy about that and will definitely be on the lookout for more items.  How’s your thrifting going lately?  Last week I went on a thrift bus ride to Atlanta – I’ll be sharing that experience with you as well.  Until next time – Happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home!

CIAO!!!
