This basket took a beating this Summer while I had it on the porch for the plant to get some Mother Nature care. I should have removed the plant because baskets this size are not easy to come by while thrifting and not to mention new ones are expensive. After viewing LindaGLovingHome’s video about covering a basket, I decided to give this basket a quick update. Having stashes of fabric made this a zero dollar makeover. If you recall this basket’s new look, I used what I already had around the house, so this time I shopped my house. I found a chintz fabric that I’ve had for years and never used it (truthfully speaking I forgot I had it).
Although vintage chintz fabric is not as popular as it used to be, however, I thought the colors were bright and cheery and perfect to use for this area.
Tucked some down inside around the rim for a finished look. It’s so much more happy looking now.. and the fabric gave this corner more color. Actually the chintz fabric doesn’t look so bad or outdated. Cheers to another basket case checked off the “to-do” list.
I’m glad Linda suggested covering the basket with fabric because now I don’t have to buy a new one. Well enjoy!! The weekend is almost here and I hope you all have fun things planned – as always — happy hunting
Came out even better!
Thanks Nancy!
Pinned! You think I could do this with some plastic planters if I leave the bottom off? I sit potted plants inside more decorative plastic planters but I like this idea much better.
You most definitely could!!I vote yes- give it a try.. glad you liked this simple DIY
