MORE THRIFTED DECOR

A PICKERS’ DELIGHT

I hope everyone had a good weekend and didn’t feel too bad with the hour loss of sleep.  If you’re like me, perhaps it’ll seem like you can get a bit more done..(but who are we fooling right- hahaha).  I did get to a local thrift sale back at the same building where I scored these goodies and found a few more.  Here are a few items I saw (did you peep the beautiful teapot 🙂 ? )

This stand is pretty interesting.  It’s handmade and the legs are made of wooden thread spools.  Cleaned up, painted, and insert a mirror or piece of art and it would make an excellent foyer stand to catch mail, key drop or just a vase of flowers.

I really liked this bird’s eye maple table

This empire buffet would make a great farmhouse bathroom sink vanity.

I did purchase a few things that I was pleased with like this vintage tulip light (I’m a sucker for lights)

and this swag light.  It needs to taken apart to be cleaned and change the fabric so this will be a pushed back project..lol.. but it does work (which I’m glad about that).

I spotted another wooden bowl which I really liked and bought that to use as a planter.  It was perfect timing because I had just purchased a few small plants.  (love the grain colors here)

I also grabbed this cute little stool.  At first, my mind was for it to be for the grandbaby when she comes, she’ll have a little stool to sit on.

This bowl was in fantastic condition and just needed cleaning and a good shine.  After I washed it, I sprayed it with lemon oil and the natural shine came through.  As for the stool, it’ll hold the wooden bowl (until the grand comes) but fingers crossed I’ll find her another stool.  I painted the stool black chalk paint (which I already had) for a matte finish and attached a black pompom fringe (also in my stash) for a boho look. The cost of these two items were $2.00.  I also purchased a couple other items for a total of $5.00. But this look would be much higher had I shopped retail.

This is my second wooden bowl I found in our town during thrift sales but 3rd I found thrifting and I’ve put them to good use.

This blends in with aesthetics of the room and I love the simplicity of it.

Another addition to the plant family.

The cost of good wooden bowls are on the rise, so I urge you to snag them if you see them while thrifting.  Not mention, boho style stools can range from $40-90.00 (and more).  So with a little fringe you can create your own.

I’m absolutely thrilled with how this simple project turned out.  Never pass a good sale in a small town….. you never know what you’ll find.

As always – Happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home!
