$2.00 Tuesday

Happy, happy, happy New Year!!  I hope everyone was safe and enjoyed ringing in the new year.  It’s hard to believe 2019 is here and I don’t know about you, but to me, it seems like the years are flying by.  Let’s hope this year time will slow down and allow us some time to stop and smell the roses and tiptoe through the tulips.  Well I’m not going to be too wordy here because I know you’re busy getting all those resolutions done (hahahaha) – just a bit of new year sarcasm..heeehee..   Thank you all so much for the wonderful compliments you gave about the Brick Cottage Project decor.  Amir and I truly appreciate them.  He read them with big smiles and left him feeling encouraged and accomplished.  Just a few more rooms and the decor is all finished.  Excluding New Year’s day, (because I was too pooped to sit behind the computer and type this) It’s the first (functioning) Tuesday of the year and I wanted to share a quick $2.00 Tuesday on the blog.  I really like starting the year off with a good thrift find and post about it.  Kinda like a good luck sign for me.  But moving along, there were a few items at the BCP that were $2.00 or less and I wanted to share them.   The newest is this hand blown glass vase.

I was totally excited about finding this and felt it was perfect for the dining table.  The previous one was nice but this one is even better.  The swirl earth tone at the bottom blends perfectly with the smoked glass table.  This vase was $1.84 at Goodwill.

The next item was the orange jute bowl.  This bowl was $2.00 at a thrift store.  Originally tagged at $4.00 they had a 50% off sale on the entire store.

It was a nice touch on top of the credenza which added the pop of color to match the chair.  Next up was the head vase.  When I spotted this I knew exactly what I wanted it for.  Amir loves having his incense around, and instead of keeping them in their plastic holder, I wanted something to display them in and now their aroma is in the air even when it’s not burning.  The head vase was $1.98 at “friends of the animals” thrift store.

The wood carved picture frame on the end table was only $1.00 at Goodwill.  This frame was a excellent blend with the drapery panels and matched the entire element of the room.

and lastly are the black frames that I used to hang a few pictures of him and his brother and fiance.  The frames already had white mattes around them, so it gives the pictures a bit more of a professional framing.

All these decor items were purchased at different stores and times, but like I always say – it’s about the thrill of the hunt.  I hope you’ve been inspired about shopping estate sales and thrift stores for home decor.  It’s not how much it costs, but it’s how good you can style it.    As always, happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home.

CIAO!!!!
