Thrift Décor on a Budget

$2.00 Tuesday

Good morning! Soooo let’s get the ball rolling and to kick things off with some thrifted finds, I figured I’d begin with a $2.00 Tuesday.  By now, you know I always emphasize to look for picture frames, and don’t pass the aisle when you see them, besides, you never know when you’ll need a frame.  These were my latest frames haul (back in Dec).  I haven’t put pictures in them yet but in do time.   (side note: the two chain link brass frames are Ralph Lauren frames and they were one heck of a thrift find.  However, they were not $2.00.  The tall one was $5.00 and the square was $3.00) – I mean look at the price of his brand frames.. even on the secondary market the price is still high).  I really like the retro one for $2.00 and as you see the date on them was 10/2 – it’s been sitting in the store that long.. – they were meant to be for me to find.

I also bought this graphic style one for $2.00 and I put my little pookie bear’s picture in it.  I switched out the faux tulips for the frame to add a subtle new look that’s perfect for side table. With a new pillow made from fabric I had in my stash, it gives the corner a quick new look. (This pillow is also available in my etsy shop)

This room is now my TV room.. I absolutely love hanging in here to relax.  My husband takes over the TV in our family room (which I rarely share on here) and he’s a channel surfer (I hate that clicking back and forth stuff) so this room is my haven.

Next I found this vintage USA pottery.

It’s a perfect dish to match the mid-century vase I scored a while back at a town yard sale.  It’s wide enough to hold my candle and accessories.

Next I found this 80’s Royal Haeger vase.  I decided to switch up the clear vase that held the feathers in the guest room.

I clipped a few of these fluffy pampas off the side of the road (as they dried,  they got fuller lol)

Tarsha at Somethingforsanity found these two vases for $2.00 and gave them a new look for her home.

I love how she painted them and kept the necks as is.  I think the chalk white paint gives them much more character than before.

As you see,  they’re out there.  So happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home.

Until next time,

CIAO

    • Well hi Lovely! Welcome to my blog.. thanks for the compliment. I appreciate you popping over. I just visited your blog and love what I see. new subby here

  1. Great finds. So does $2.00 Tuesday mean you can only buy things that are $2.00 or less? We watch different tv’s the majority of the time my hubby does not channel surf but watches way to many episodes of stuff like Diners Drive in and Dives. I can only watch so many shows of people eating LOL…

    • Hey Sonya! LOL..I feel ya.. I actually watch that show and find myself hungry all the time..lol.. and I think I gain weight just by watching.

    • I am laughing like a hyena! Your husband (and SO MANY across this nation!) has that trigger finger, too, huh? Drives me insane!!!!!!! I retreat to any roomBUT the family room to seek refuge from that constant channel changing. Pick a station and stick with it, man!!!!!!!!!!!🤣🤣🤣

You’ve found some great pieces in your thrifting excursions of late! I immediately noticed the retro frame because I had one quite similar back in the late 70s/early 80s! You’ll have fun with your new frames and vases!

Gotta go! My trainer has a COW if you’re even 20 seconds late, so I try to get there 10 minutes early every day! I’ve SEEN the wrath he exacts upon people who are tardy, and I want NO parts of that!!!🤣🤣🤣 Have a happy weekend!

      • Hey Alycia…lol..I know .. what’s up with that! I don’t get it..lol Happy New Year my dear.. glad you’re back.
