One Room Challenge – Week 7

Hey everyone and Happy Wednesday!  Well we’re down to the wire.. the last week before the reveal.. I’m just working the last few details to complete the look, such as a flower pot like this.  It’s not in the most horrible shape as if I’d have to go buy another, but it needed sprucing up.  This is the side that was facing the sunny side of the window so it’s dry rot.  I was thinking about spray paint or regular paint but then it dawned on me to use some scraps of fabric I had laying around.

I pulled out the small swatch of remaining mudcloth and wrapped it around the bottom.   Also the remaining strip was used on a basket to add the afro-vibe to the space.

That looks much better.  (Post note – I’m thinking to add pompom fringe to the basket for a more finished look).  Afterall, you can’t have afro-boho without mudcloth – right.  Also, a big hoooray!!  My chandelier has been hung and it’s every bit of fabulous.

This is a pure case of patience is a virtue.  I’ve had the prisms for about 15 years hoping I’d find the right chandelier to mate them with.  Seeing them dangling from it reminds me of glistening icicles because of their shine in the light. I won’t show anymore but I will say this room turned out so much better than I ever imagined, so I’ll see you next week with all the eye candy.  I’m already thinking about the next room to do for the challenge…  lol.. but in the meantime, I’m doing some things in the yard and deck.  I hope you’ve been checking out the other participants in the ORC as well.  Here’s the link to make it east for you to hop over to.  Take care and I’ll see you next week.

CIAO!!!

  1. Love what you did with the flower pot and the basket. Creativity is the key to good design and you do a really great job being creative.

  2. Patience always pays off! That’s why I’m going to just chill while I wait ONE MORE WEEK to see the before and after!!!!!!! It has been a fun ride, but I’m ready to see the whole enchilada!!!!!!!!
