2Week Furniture Flip Roundup

Flipping Furniture Pieces

Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone… If you recall a few weeks back in Spring I participated in a 2weekFurnitureFlip hosted by Nicole of Design-it-VintageLiving.  I’m long overdue with sharing the before/after of all the wonderful participants and their fabulous makeovers.  If you’re new here, welcome and let me share a quick tidbit of the flip.  It’s just a diy session in which a group of flippers take unloved pieces waiting patiently to be found, dug out, or purchased that could use a facelift, new look or simple TLC.  Just in case you didn’t click the back button, I’ll share my piece that I flipped.  I gave this -seen better days – art deco bar cabinet at my mother’s home a new look from this:

To this gorgeous beauty that’s ready to shine again.

Nicole of Design_it_VintageLiving took a vintage cabinet from this:

To this stunning showpiece with art deco glam – I have to whole heartedly say this is one badass piece.

Cristina at Remodelacasa took her “elephant in the garage” dresser from this level

To a charming romantic dresser stenciled with eucalyptus leaves –  it’s very tastefully done

Holly at Pinklincolnchic showed her mid-century Danish teak cabinet some love by taking it from this:

To ShowRoom status – The wood looks like smooth butter (amazing finish)

Nikki at 4thHouseontheRight took -not just any old chair- but her Grandmother’s bergère into the 21st century from this:

To a new shining glory making her grandmother proud.  The designer fabric is absolutely beautiful.

and lastly Chantelle  of Clarke.andco took this plain jane dresser from this

To a jaw-dropping exotic afro-centric stunning piece

Let’s give these ladies a round of applause for doing a fan-tabulous job at flipping their pieces.  To see more eye candy pictures, you can click on the links to their Instagram page and be inspired to flip your own piece.  The flip session had such a nice turn-out, that Nicole is hosting a Summer Flip.  Yup – I’m back at it again with another item I pulled out the garage.

I know… realllly realllllly bad shape.. (poor thing) but I bought it in this condition for $5.00 a couple of years ago (of course with the intention to give it a makeover).  So now the time has come.  The flip officially began July 28 and so far there are 16 doers who want to get shyt done.  I’ll be posting my updates on Instagram with the reveal here on the blog.  I’m looking forward to seeing this cart come back to life.  So far the only thing I’ve accomplished was giving it a good bath..lol.. and believe it or not the wheels aren’t rust at all – they’re lucite but just packed with dirt in this picture.  Next I plan to sand all the chipped paint off and take it apart to paint the legs.  I’m still not sure if I want to paint or use peel&stick paper on the shelves..  oh well.. if you have suggestions, feel free to drop them in the comments…in the meantime – I’m off and running.. Ready – Set- Go!! because two weeks go fast.  See you later and I’ll touch base with you soon.

CIAO!!!

  1. This does not look like the same piece of furniture. Great revival! Painting the base black really grounds it and adds a rich touch.

  2. It amazes me what someone with an idea, ambtion and time can accomplish with an old piece of furniture. These examples are beautiful. Thanks for sharing!!
