It’s like I took a long blink and bam, Summer is gone.  Can you believe the onset of Fall is upon us?  Oy-vey… I still haven’t even began to get my backyard ready for Summer and in a couple of weeks the leaves are going to begin to fall and my yard will look like a brown crunchy ocean.  Although I hate to think about colder nights, but it’ll be quite a relief from this past Summer (it was brutal).   As the season begins to transition, and we normally begin by warming the aesthetics of the home.  If you’ve been around here long enough, you notice I’m not one to decorate seasonally.  My décor pretty much stays the same all year round.  I sometimes make subtle changes to reflect the season by switching items on the coffee table, dining table or kitchen counters.  Nonetheless, the only desire I could muster up was changing the coffee table.  I switched the tapers from all white to deep burgundy and I also changed the planter to another deeper berry color.  By simply switching those items already gave the table a more sense of “Fall” appeal.

I changed some of the pillows to a darker mudcloth just to warm the look a bit.

So with the subtle changes, also think about warming your home with fragrance.

This is a sponsored post, I was gifted this candle selection, but all opinions are mine.

To create that soothing scent in my home, I collaborated Southern Elegance to help create that cozy vibe with the warm fragrance of Apple Bourbon.  Before I tell you about this scent, let me share with you about the company.  Southern Elegance is a company founded by D’Shawn Russel, a true southern belle.  She began making candles that would honor the joys of southern living and provide a creative outlet for her sense of nostalgia. When she started giving them away as gifts, the response was so well received that she decided to take this newfound passion of hers and share it with more people. Thus, Southern Elegance Candle Company was born.

Now let me tell you about Apple & Bourbon.  It’s a wonderful Fall scent that reminds me of sitting cozy by the fireplace sipping on bourbon, brandy or even a hot toddy.  With a light scent of apples infused with smooth bourbon, the fragrance also has a touch of vanilla and maple smell that soothes the senses.   For each fragrance, there’s a complete line of candles, home spray, wax melts and diffusers.

This diffuser is placed in my livingroom, so when you come through the door, the light aromatic fragrance gently flows to your smelling senses.

I know it’s a bit soon to even think about chilly days and cold nights, but it’s coming..so you might want to order in advance.  And guess what… use the code Jamala55 and you’ll get a 10% disct off your first entire purchase.

  1. I don’t know what’s going on. Your blog just ate my comment!!!!!!! Just very suddenly out of the clear blue it ATE my comment and won’t regurgitate it back to me!!!! I can’t rewrite that whole thing, so I will just say GREAT JOB! I don’t know how you do it, but it’s wonderful!

  2. I find it fascinating how small changes make an impact. I love the berry colors and the mudcloth is gorgeous. Looks fantastic and I’ll definitely be checking out the Southern Elegance; I love a good fall scent.

    • Hey Cindy! Thank you..Hope all has been well with you and your family. Yes, definitely check them out.. I also ordered the New Orleans scent and really love it. I’m more of a floral scented candle, but I’m totally digging the Apple Bourbon.

  3. I like your subtle decorative changes for fall. Its a challenge to integrate seasonal items. I feel like I’m just putting on a top layer over something that isn’t really part of the room. Fall decor works well because those are my colors, but Christmas, yikes! I do a small tree with vintage ornaments and that’s pretty much it. Just curious, do you do any December decorating? And…I really like those pineapple leaf candle sticks on the coffee table!

    • Hey Ruth! I feel what you’re saying.. no I don’t do Winter decorating either.. I pretty much stick them together (Spring/Summer & Fall/Winter) and I tend to stray away from bright florals during the Fall/Winter. I guess it’s kind of weird but I works for me, besides I don’t have the storage space to put all of it.
