How I Saved Thousands – Thrifting My House into A Home

Hey Everyone!  I hope all has been well .. I know it’s been quite some time since my last blog post but lately I’ve been pushing back on thrifting and decorating.  I’m seriously trying to curb my appetite but believe me when I tell you – IT’S HARD!!  lol – I realize I haven’t shared part 2 of my small series “How I Saved Thousands” thrifting my house into a home.  I’m amazed when I look back at how much I really saved.  So, if you haven’t caught the thrift bug yet, maybe after watching this series you might just change your mind and hit a few estate sales, yard sales and thrift stores.   As always, be inspired to live the “Lifestyle of the Thrift and Famous:

Happy hunting while thrifting your house into a home

  1. So nice to hear from you again Jamala! I really enjoy your video tours. You are so good at identifying quality pieces that just need some TLC to give them new life. It seems like a good and reasonable upholster is a great find as well!

    • Hey Ruth, hope all has been well with you. I’m glad you enjoyed this video. I’m trying to be somewhat informative on some things. You are right about finding a reasonable reupholsterer.. ever since my dear friend moved, I’ve lost a desire to get things reupholstered.

      • Oh no, that’s too bad. You must miss seeing your friend as well as their upholstery skills. Just wanted to add that you have a good eye for identifying what is worth the work. Buying second hand can be tricky. I recently purchased 4 skirted dining chairs (FB MarketPlace) I wanted cushy, comfortable seats, but they sink a little when you sit and become too low for the table! Plus, “pet free home” are 3 important words to look for if you have allergies. I vacuumed and brushed so much fur off the undersides, their dog must have had his friends over for dinner. Live and learn!

  2. That Bernhardt chair!!!!!! WHAT?!?!?!??!?! You are SO talented at breathing new life into things! I have zero patience or skill. And I remember when you recharged that bar. That was a heck of a deal!!!!!!!!!!! And you really do your homework! To get all those bar glasses for a song…incredible! You are truly, truly gifted at the art of thrifting. Have a great weekend!!!

    • Hey there Alycia! Thanks so much lady..I have to admit it’s getting harder to find such goodies..lol but I won’t stop looking..You too have a wonderful week
