Sharing Good News!!

With my previous post still heavy in my heart – I begin to create another form of normalcy without “Mom” existing in my life and I must admit it’s been a bit of a struggle. I can’t thank each and every one of you enough for the overwhelming showcase of love, cares and prayers I received. I can say I’m truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life who truly care and understand my pain.  Of course we know death is a part of life, but for some reason, I always felt mom will be here forever.. and technically she is.. because she lives within her children passed to her grandchildren.  But with sadness also comes some gladness.  Back in August, my intention was to share the joyous event in our family, but everything happened so fast.  I wanted to share the wonderful news that my youngest son, Amir got married.  Yes, I’ve gained a daughter-in-love and we’re thrilled.   When we packed for the trip to Florida – I double checked and tripled check because I always forget something. Then two states away I realized I’d forgotten my makeup.. ugh!!!! I’m a Mary Kay girl (ever since I was 18) and I was mad sick!!!! Pissed with myself because how could I have been so forgetful for one of the MOST important days.   In my purse I had the usual eyeliner, mascara and lipstick because I really haven’t worn face makeup daily in quite a few years. So when we got to Florida it was time to head to the mall (which I really don’t like to do anymore), but luckily it wasn’t crowded.  I headed straight to the MAC counter because I’m more familiar with that brand since I already purchase their eyebrow pencil (l love it). The cosmetician was very helpful and asked me what I prefer,  she picked the perfect powder (Studio Fix) and bronzer for me. I walked out a happy girl ready for my son’s big day feeling satisfied.  Now by no means do I consider myself a make-up artist/professional but I do know the basics. Studio Fix goes on like powder but finishes like a cream.  It gave me the coverage I needed without feeling heavy. The bronzer was used on my cheeks and t-zone for a bit of a highlight.  All in all, I was pleased with my look for the day.  Of course I had to snap a quick car selfie  🙂

And of course another quick bathroom selfie

and now the stunning bride, Rita and handsome groom, Amir – introducing Mr. & Mrs. Amir Wallace

This is one of my most favorite pictures of the couple – soooo romantic –  damn they look good!!!

My handsome sons and the beautiful bride and her beautiful sisters.

and the entire bridal party *you know there was a whole lot of shakin’ going on” with this bunch!

May God bless their union and keep them this happy..

I was so pleased with the Studio Fix and the coverage, I started wearing it on a daily basis… (feeling kinda cute here at 57) lol..

So if you’re looking for a lightweight powder with full coverage, Studio Fix could be the one for you.

Also to share some other good news, I was featured in South Carolina Voyager Magazine under Change Makers- Stories That Inspire and that too brought a smile to my face, because you know I continue to inspire to live the “Lifestyle of the Thrift and Famous”.   To read the full story, click here:

And there you have it.. sorry for the long post, but I hope you enjoyed the smiles we managed to have in the midst of it all.  Thank you again for being here with me and your continued friendship. I’ll see you soon but in the meantime – happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home!

CIAO!!!!
