Hey Everyone!! It’s been quite some time since I’ve posted a recipe for “TwinsLuvCooking” but since I’ve taken a bit of a hiatus from thrifting, I thought I’d start to try a few recipes that caught my eye and had my tastebuds screaming “TRY” lol . I was scrolling through Once Upon a Chef website and spotted this recipe for Blueberry Crumb Cake. It looked totally decadent and since I had all the ingredients, I thought I’d give it a try (besides I didn’t want the fresh blueberries to go bad). Well, I have to say – I’m truly glad I did!!
I followed Jenn’s easy step-by-step recipe, except I used 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract instead of 1 1/2. I promise, it you’re a blueberry lover (like me), it was worth every freaking calorie I swallowed – (shame on me). I even brought out my lovely vintage plate set to enjoy with a cup of hot blueberry tea.
Then I thought…hmmmm.. since I know I’ll have another slice in the afternoon, why not make a pitcher of brewed blueberry-lemon sweet iced tea for the afternoon snack.
And to make this deliciously refreshing tea, I brewed 5 Celestial Seasonings TrueBlueberry Teabags in 3 cups of water in a saucepan Once they came to a complete boil, I removed from the heat and added 3/4 cup sugar and juice from 1/2 lemon freshly squeezed. Allow it to cool, remove and squeeze excess water from tea bags and pour in your pitcher. Add 1 cup of water and refrigerate. Now this is to your taste, I don’t prefer super sweet tea so you can adjust to your level of sweetness.
I definitely give these two a thumbs up and they will be made over and over again. Now I’m not sure why this cake has an aka “Boy Bait” but it sure was a click bait for me and got me hooked- lol.
Saying thanks to Jenn at Once Upon a Chef for sharing such an easy delightful recipe. I hope you give it a try – if so, let us know. Remember, cooking is easy with “TLC” TwinsLuvCooking!
Also, if you make it, here’s my latest video which is the final episode of the series to watch while you munch away.
CIAO!!!!
“Boy Bait”! Ha! I love it! If it tastes as good as you say, then I understand why it’s called that! Even to this day, the way to a man’s heart is his stomach!
You have convinced me…trying it this week. Looks delicious and plated perfectly 🥰
This cake looks perfect on your vintage dishes!
