Rum Raisin Caramelized Onions

Sweet caramelized onions on top of your favorite steak

  • 1 lrg Vadalia Onion sliced
  • 1 sm garlic clove minced
  • 1.5 tblspn olive olive
  • 2 tblspn butter
  • 1 tblspn Rum Raisin liqueur Curacao

Instructions

  1. Peel and slice onions to desired thickness.  Heat small saucepan, add olive oil and butter.  Once butter is melted, add garlic and saute for approximately 1 min.  Add onions and saute approximately 5 mins (or until onions soften).  Sprinkle rum-raisin liqueur on top and stir .. simmer until caramelizes.  Serve hot on top of steak, burger or chicken
