Friday Finds

In all honesty, with my backyard looking like an ocean of leaves, decorating for Fall is something I literally have to muster up energy for.  I’m usually good for a mum or two on the porch, and call it quits.  A while back, I found this deer skull at a flea market for $21.00 and didn’t think twice about buying it considering how much they cost.  So, to show a little Fall decor, I decided to add some fake leaves across the top and hang it outside on the porch.

I also picked up this chinoiserie Satsuma egg for $4.99 – I started to leave it until I spotted the peacock on the front.  So, in the basket it went.

Amina hit the jackpot when she found a set of eight (8) Acacia wood plates for $3.00 –   Big Time Bravo on this score!!

They are perfect with her wooden napkin rings.  These plates normally range $17 –  $70.00 for a set of 4.

Another great score was done by Bernadine.  She hit a yard sale and snagged this pair of rattan chairs for $10.00!!!  Insert (Pass the “F” Out)!!  Totally awesome.  These chairs have an asking price of $798.00  on a leading selling site

Another thrifter found this set at Goodwill.. unfortunately someone else snagged it first.. But it was indeed a gorgeous set.  I’m trying to wrap my brain around “who on earth would get rid of it” – unbelievable…

Machelle of Soda City Thrifters, hit a Goodwill and found this bohemian inspired beaded mirror for $5.75.  When she posted it on the group site, my fingers couldn’t dial her number fast enough to tell her to “GET IT” for me.  It’s awesome when you’ve got your thrift partners out there scoring and sharing.

But her biggest score was this pair of African inspired vintage wooden lamps.  Are you ready for this… she got them both for $12.00.  The store was having a 1/2 off sale.  Talk about thrifter’s luck – Yes Luck Be the Lady!!  Kudos to Machelle.

Last score of the week is this fancy torchiere lamp.  Staci of Soda City Thrifters snagged it from Goodwill for $8.00.  High Five and a hip bump on this!

I’m going to end saying this –  the bargains are out there….. Remember – it’s the thrill of the hunt so Happy Hunting while you thrift your house into a home!

  1. Just $21 for that skull??? Get outta town!!! That is an AMAZING score!!! I see them around for the prices on your comparison link, but never at that bargain basement price!!! Sometimes I think it’s just kids getting rid of their parents’ stuff as fast as they can dispose of it after they pass away or go to a nursing home or whatever. They don’t want to have to deal with it, so they just pack it all up and give it to Goodwill. Such a shame. They don’t even bother to research the value. Great buys from all your thrifting pals! Have a great weekend!
