Change can be good and when it comes in the form of “Thrift” that means it’s a delight! If you recall my Saturday Thriftscapade post I had thee most fun time in Atlanta thrifting with my son and not to mention we found some real goodies. So before I show you more of my findings, let’s take a look at what I’ve got and how I styled it. Of the pictures I showed in the post, there was a coffee table. I’ve been looking for another one for quite some time. It’s not that I didn’t like the one I previously had but I’ve had for over 20 years and felt it was time for a change.
I did purchase the round gold iron table for $30.00.
and this ginger jar for $10.00
I was, again, nervous because the style is totally different from what I was looking for. When I got the table home – getting it out the truck was a pure struggle.. No kidding, this table was heavy as hell.. The glass top alone had to weigh at least 75lbs and the bottom – another 100lbs. My husband dropped at least 10 “F” bombs carrying it up the stairs.. and when I said we’ll be testing it in the space.. he said, “you can test it all you want.. but it ain’t leaving” … yikes.. uh oh…. looks like I’m stuck with it for a while. So… here it is in the living room
Amir had two love seats in his apartment and wanted a larger sofa for his place.. something he could stretch out and lounge on.
He was the one who scored the sofa for $37.50. He got it home and it was a perfect for his space. We removed the cushion covers and washed them, sprayed the foam and gave a heavy vacuum followed by Lysol spray and finished with Fabreeze. The round coffee table was too small and we hopped to another Goodwill and found the rectangle coffee table for $12.50
All fresh and he gave it a quick lounge test…lol
And now he’s feeling like a winner.. heeeheee….
His apartment is tastefully decorated and all done on a budget.
I was the one who grabbed the botanical print for the the guest room
So you see…. thrifting can also be a family affair … it’s all good when we can find items without breaking the bank. Not to mention, like I said in the beginning – change is good and when you decorate on a budget it’s even better. I’ll be back Saturday with more finds during my thriftscapades. I hope you’re having fun while you thrift your house into a home
CIAO!!!!!
I discovered you blog just a short time ago. I.love.your.blog. I am a thrifter and I sometimes thrift with my son so I especially enjoyed this post!
Awww…thank you so much Ora! I’m happy to have you here visiting.. I appreciate your compliment and glad you enjoy reading. Yea, thrifting with my sons is truly a rewarding and bonding experience
I do love the whole “family affair” edge to your collecting. That’s got to make it that much more special! The new coffee table rocks! I get what you mean about not “needing” a new one, but being ready for a change. It’s hard sometimes to let go of things that have worked for so long, so it takes courage to bid adieu to those old tried and trues!
I just love your style! So glad I found your site 💕
Thank you Danielle! I’m happy you found me as well.. (smiles)..Welcome.. I’m happy to have you here..
