Styling Your Music Player in Your Decor – Part 3

A few weeks ago I had an emotional meltdown..  I got up on a Sunday morning and proceeded with my normal routine which includes opening the doors to the house (to let the sunshine in) and turning on my music.  I went to turn on my cd player and it sounded  strange…. the motor kept roaring and the disc changer was not turning.

I thought maybe a cd was stuck inside, and I tried to open it but the door wouldn’t open.  I pressed every button to see if it would make a difference.. nope.. it was no use.. whatever was wrong with it, it wasn’t going to give.  Now, you now how upsetting it was because I’m still old school and enjoy playing cds and records(vinyl).  To add to my stress level, next I realized I had to disconnect it from my system (the spaghetti wires in the back had my head spinning..) then I had to dissect it to get my cds out.  I refused to trash the thing with my cds inside.  Needless to say I did get them out and immediately went online to see about ordering another one.  Rude awakening… the price for a new one was off the chain…. (insert charlie brown scream – uuuggghhhh!!!)

The next best thing to do was search FB Marketplace.  Low and behold – BAM!! one appeared, but not just any old one.. the exact same one I had.  YAYYY!!! However it was California.. well I took a chance on it, and contacted the seller.  BINGO.. he still had it and was willing to ship.  So for $95 I got another CD player.

The mere thought of me not being able to play my music through my system gave me such anxiety.  In the meantime, I still had my vinyl to play on my turntable.

It arrived 5 days later and I was back to being happy girl and to resume my normal routine.  The player was in great condition, and it plays perfectly.

So to continue my efforts to keep you inspired to get a music station, I’ve got more spaces to show how others are incorporating music in their home decor.  To see past inspirations, you can check out Pt 1 and Pt 2

I simply adore the cool modern vibe how Timala of DecuratedInteriors artistically styles her music

Thilde Secher has hers perfectly incorporated with her mid-century Scandinavian infused style

I absolutely love how Michellemoskalenko styled hers on this vintage etagere.  This is one swanky look here!

Can we all agree that Sabir Peele of  MensstylePro has a dope, stylish pad and he even incorporated his Victrola in the decor.

Blended with her art and African decor, OurAfricanInterior has nailed a cool display for her music station.

And unfortunately not everyone has a stylish space, but yet even in the midst of destruction, this gentleman Mohiedin Anis, still has found a sense of peace knowing he has music by his side.  This photo was  captured by photographer Joseph Eid on the eve of 6h anniversary of Syria’s civil war (3/2017)

There’s something sentimentally nostalgic about having vinyl and cds in your home.  It even sparks conversation, when guests vist and see what’s in your collection.   So when you think you can’t find a place to put your music.. guess again.. it doesn’t take much space to have that memory lane feeling showcased in your home.  I hope you’ve enjoyed this mini-series on stylish homes with record players.  Now go get some vinyl!!!!  heeeheee.. Happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home.

CIAO!!!

  1. Wonderful you found the exact same CD player! My husband and I often wish we could replace our old products so we don’t have to learn anything new. Happy listening!

  2. So glad you found another one; my husband has music playing in the background pretty consistently throughout his day, so I know he would feel your pain.

I enjoy reading your comments
