How to Style an Afro-Boho Cloffice
I’ve been so proud of my office and the mere fact that I’m able to stay so organized and tidy in this small space (3x5ft to be exact) makes me even more impressed. Sometimes you have to push yourself to accomplish a goal and by me entering the One Room Challenge to create a viable space in my home was definitely a major accomplishment.
These are pictures that were posted in the reveal. Now by no means, please know I’m not about to make any changes in here (lol). I just wanted to tweak the space a little bit. Like for one, I don’t buy fresh flowers on a regular basis but love seeing their color.
Naturally I can’t grow a plant in this space but would really appreciate seeing one.
The gold on gold pillows could use a change.. (mixing patterns is what I love to do)
So I’ve succumb to my maximalistic self -lol Notice the faux plant and how it adds color next to the art. Also, no need to keep real flowers in here all the time, but having the faux orchids adds the pop of beautiful color which brightens the space (one next to the computer and another gently tucked behind the chandelier). The cost of the plant and orchids was $7.00. The Essence magazine featuring Aretha Franklin on the cover was a special edition and packed with photos of the Queen of Soul and that is a collector’s edition and couldn’t see NOT adding it to the space. I had some original floral paintings that I was not ready to let go of, so I decided to create a wall gallery. The tiger wearing shades print was purchased from Thee Bouffants and framed it in an antique frame I purchased for $2.00
I’m aware the maximalist style isn’t for everyone, and that’s cool, but when I placed the blue floral painting against the wall (I was contemplating on listing it in my Etsy shop and then I realized I really like the painting and looks lovely on the cheetah wall. So I decided to hang it and when I took down the other painting from the guest room, I decided to hang it in here. I really am loving the small gallery in here.
Just because it’s a tiny space, it doesn’t mean it has to be minimal in style (not that is was minimal – lol) But I’m sure you feel me about wanting more pops of color with flowers.
Having the cloffice sanctuary to be my go-to space for my think tank is truly a blessing for me.
and adding simple changes that was less than $40.00 didn’t break the bank at all.
I found the leopard pillow in a thrift store for $2.00 (couldn’t make it cheaper than that- right)
and that pillow added even more eye candy… (never underestimate the power of pillows)
Well that’s all there was to show for the Cloffice Max style… as always, I hope this inspired you to cast your maximal fears aside and go for the gusto. Decorate your home with what pleases you and makes you smile. Trends are nice, but short lived.. Setting your trend and style lasts longer because it’s what makes happy while making your house into a home.
Happy Hunting!!!
CIAO!!!
Your “cloffice” may be small, but she is a beauty and so full of personality. I want one too! Excellent use of space and now everything is at your finger tips.
You have created THE space! It doesn’t take up a lot of real estate in your home, it offers privacy with the door, it’s well lit, there’s lots of shelf space, and it’s beautifully decorated! It’s kind of like how you make the powder room the prettiest bathroom in the house because it’s the smallest. I’m definitely not a minimalist by ANY stretch of the imagination, so this totally appeals to me! I love how you’ve named it a “cloffice.” That’s hilarious…but totally accurate! No worries about the lack of fresh flowers. I can no longer afford to put fresh flowers all over the house, but with the wonderfully realistic fauxs available these days, who cares? You really know how to get the job done right while spending the least amount of money. I bow to you, good lady!
Heeheeeheee! Thank you so much Alycia! It’s so funny because I thought I’d start putting things in here and make it cluttered but it’s so small, it causes me to keep things in order and not bring in much. I’m so glad you love the small additions – I’m thrilled about them.
I love what you did and the updates have made even that much better !
Hey Tiffany! Thank you so much. I’m happy to hear you like them
