My husband is not a salmon lover – but on the other hand – I am. I’m trying different ways to cook it to alleviate me having to cook two different meals when I crave salmon. I tried this recipe and with fingers crossed served it (with the mindset he won’t eat – he hates salmon). To my surprise he actually liked it.. my excitement felt like the kid in the Life Cereal commercial..lol..So, I thought since it passed the Mikey taste test – I thought I’d share this simple recipe with you.
Brandied Salmon
- 2 Salmon steaks
- 4 tblspn butter
- 1 tspn black pepper
- 1 tspn garlic salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Paul Masson brandy (or whichever brand you prefer)
Season salmon with black pepper and garlic salt. Using a medium heat, melt butter in a cast iron skillet (making sure not to burn it), add brown sugar, stirring to dissolve it. Add brandy and continue to stir. Place salmon into pan and cook approximately five – seven minutes. Flip over to cook the other side, being careful to not overcook. Remove from pan and serve hot. I served it with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed fresh spinach.
See how easy that was!! As always- cooking is easy with “TLC” – I hope you enjoy this recipe!
You’re welcome! I hope he gets the approval.. My husband just doesn’t care for it and I’ve tried 3 different recipes and this was given the nod.. lol.. but I’m still going to keep trying more.. good luck with yours
Looks soooo delicious! Thank You!
