Saturday Thriftscapade

Hey Thrift-buddies!  I’m out here (as always) hunting for things I don’t need just to see what I could find…heeeheee, but I’m actually looking for a couple items, (a chest of drawers for my granddaughter, and a chair the BCP bedroom).   It’s Saturday and I wanted to share some eye candy I’ve been sweetening my vision with.  I walked into another rinky-dink store (not to sound derogative, but it’s off the beaten path.  It has now become one of my favorite go-to because you-never-know store.  I walked and this sweetheart of a lamp stopped me in my tracks  staring at me.  I can seriously tell you – I was extremely close to getting it.

However, I was not quite ready to spend $75.00 on a whim purchase for a lamp (which you know I have a fetish for) and I have no place to put it.  She sure was quite the temptation.

Next, I spotted these campaign nightstands.  These are very nice and trending at the moment.  My initial thought was for the Brick Cottage bedroom, but he has a nice pair I snagged at an estate sale.

I hit another store and found my poohbear a chest of drawers. .. (yay-yay)…  These antique solid mahogany chest of drawers were in very good condition.  Just a few minor scratches (nothing Olde English can’t handle) and it’s back to perfect.  Excellent price $75.00 each.

Visited another store and saw these torchiere floor lamps.  I’m usually not a fan of these lights but the flared glass domes gave them an art deco appearance so they got a kudos from me.  They were only $20.00 each

Then I saw this amazing Drexel twin bed set and wished I had storage room for my poohbear to have when she got older.  I freaking loved it.  Gorgeous set.. smh… it’ll be the one that got away nightmare that will linger in my mind…. boohooo…

This cute little barrel chair was a nice bargain at $40.00

This console table was $40.00 as well.  Nothing spectacular, but I thought it was kind of cute to have for plants and what-nots (it’s all in how you style it)

I really liked this mid-century chest, however, it requires some much needed work such as light sanding and staining/painting to bring it back to life.  For $25.00 it would be worth it.

Then BINGO!! I found this chair for the BCP bedroom.  It was $55.00 and perfect!  I like the wooden arms (which is great because they won’t get dirty.

Then when I pulled it out I loved it even more because of the side view.

Pretty swanky yet masculine right?  It’s been a successful trip because I found just what I was looking for.  I’m really giving myself that much needed pat on the back because the old me would have scooped up a few more of these items just to have around the house (in storage).  I know my weaknesses and I’m coming to terms with how to deal with my thrift addiction….lol… I can look and not buy (unless it’s totally, without a doubt the bestest deal ever and I just gotta have it) lol… So, there you have it.. I hope you enjoyed your trip with me and I’ll see you soon on the next Thriftscapade.  Oh btw.. the BCP bedroom is almost done and I can’t wait to show you.  So.. as I leave you.. always remember – happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home.!!

CIAO!!
