Tassel It!

Hey Guys!! I pray this post finds you safe and well.  I know it’s been quite crazy and things are looking bleak, but somehow we still must find our joy to be happy and thankful for what we have.  I’m considered an essential worker and haven’t had much of an opportunity to be home as some of you, but the “no thrifting” weekends have been giving me the forced time to be confined at home to do a few things, like clear a few closets and work on some projects (nothing big, but things that need attention), which is why I’ve been a bit M.I.A here on the blog.    I’ve been seeing all the wonderful quarantine cleaning, decorating and organizing and I became inspired to begin my spruce ups and organizing.  While closet cleaning, I found the bag of tiebacks I bought a while back for $1.00.  Seeing how tassels are making a comeback in the accessory world, I decided to put them to use.  Tassels on lamps are buzzing around so, I figured – what the heck- add them to my bedroom brass lamps.

I was surprisingly happy to see the difference in the appearance of the lamps.

I found this blinged-out panther key ring and attached it to the tassel on my side for that little bit of “extra”.  Ain’t she fierce!

It added that girly touch without taking away from the lamp or tassel {at least that’s my thought} .. A new pillow and tassel along with the faux orchid, and this corner has a fresh look.

I love the playful tassel on Misty’s lamp.. to see more of her beautiful eclectic space, visit her blog

You could use tassels on baskets

My FBF, Nicole, made her own tassel to decorate a planter.  I love her mid-century style (and hope to do a home tour with her in the near future)

Tassels can be hung on doorknobs as an accent

Jessica @ Domicile37 accented her cabinet doors with a beautiful tassel which highlights her wonderful vintage glassware.

And to accent furniture, Ola Broom adorned her bedroom cabinet with a decorative tassel (to see more of her beautiful bedroom makeover hop over to her blog– You’ll be glad you did!)

or you can DIY your tassels like Just Being Katherine did to Spring up her decor.  To order the beads you can click here

Click to watch her complete tutorial and be inspired (and if you like her video – don’t forget to give it a thumbs up and subscribe)

And remember how I added these pebble stone tassels draped over my wall sconces.

So, if you’d like to tickle your decor without breaking the bank, get creative and add a few tassels around the house.  Small details CAN change the look of the room.  Well guys, I hope you all remain safe and healthy and I’ll pop back in your mailbox real soon.  As always, happy hunting while you thrift your house into a home!

CIAO!!!

  4. Hi Jamala,
It’s so nice to hear from you and know you are doing well. Tassels are a lot of fun! The variety is amazing. I have two that came from estate sales, one of which is hanging from the key on our grandfather clock. Stay safe out there! Looking forward to the day we can get back to bargain-hunting.
